Tangier Airport

Upon your arrival at the airport or port gate, we will greet you and transport you in an air-conditioned car. Following that, we will take you on a brief and enjoyable tour of Tangier, where you will have the opportunity to explore this vibrant international city in Morocco.

Your accommodation for the night will be provided in a hotel or riad.

Following your breakfast and exploration of Tangier's main sights, including Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules, we will head towards our next stop, Asilah.

Asilah

This charming coastal town in northwest Morocco is renowned for its well-preserved historic architecture, vibrant art scene, and picturesque beaches.

During your visit to Asilah, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the town's narrow streets, explore its colorful murals and art galleries, and take a dip in the refreshing waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Some of the top attractions in Asilah include the Asilah Medina, a walled city that is home to a number of historic buildings and cultural landmarks, and the Asilah Beach, a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. You'll also want to check out the Palace of Raissouni, a stunning example of Andalusian architecture that dates back to the 19th century.

Rabat

As the capital of Morocco, Rabat is our next destination where we will take the time to explore its Old Medina. After a lunch break, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the well-known leather workshops in the area and capture some photographs of the traditional district.

We will stay overnight in a hotel or riad.

Following breakfast, we will leave our hotel and make our way to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city situated near Meknes in northern Morocco. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its well-preserved Roman ruins and mosaics, making it one of the best examples of Roman ruins in North Africa.

Volubilis

During our visit to Volubilis, we will explore the city's various landmarks, including its temples, public buildings, and mosaics. We'll learn about the city's history and how it played a vital role in trade and commerce during ancient times.

A must-see attraction at Volubilis is the Triumphal Arch, an impressive entrance gate to the city that dates back to the 3rd century AD. This arch is one of the finest examples of Roman architecture in Morocco.

After our visit to Volubilis, we will proceed to Meknes, a stunning city in northern Morocco that is famous for its magnificent palaces, expansive squares, and impressive city walls.

Meknes

We'll begin our tour of Meknes by visiting the Bab Mansour gate, an exquisite entrance gate that showcases the finest Moroccan architecture. This gate leads to the Place el-Hedim, the city's main square that is surrounded by various cafes, shops, and local markets.

Next, we'll visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, where the powerful Moroccan sultan, who built the city in the 17th century, is laid to rest. This mausoleum is an excellent example of Moroccan architecture and features intricate tilework and calligraphy.

Our tour of Meknes will end with a visit to the Dar Jamai Museum, a beautifully restored palace that houses traditional Moroccan crafts and artwork. After breakfast, we will begin our tour of the city by exploring the Old Medina, which is a car-free urban area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As we wander through the narrow streets and alleys, we will experience the vibrant markets and local shops.

We will visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, a restored 14th-century Islamic school that boasts stunning Moroccan architecture with intricate tilework and calligraphy.

Next, we'll explore the Al-Attarine Madrasa, another beautiful 14th-century Islamic school famous for its stucco carvings and tilework.

We'll also take a tour of the Mellah, the historic Jewish Quarter, a colorful neighborhood that offers a unique glimpse into the city's rich Jewish heritage.

After exploring Azrou, head towards Ifrane.

As a part of our visit, we will pause at a local eatery to savor the tantalizing flavors of traditional Moroccan cuisine, including tajine, couscous, and harira soup, all of which are readily available at several dining venues scattered throughout Midelt.

Ziz valley / Errachidia

As you embark on your journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains and proceed southward, you will witness a striking contrast as the lush green mountainous terrain gradually gives way to arid desert landscapes. Nevertheless, the Ziz River near Errachidia breathes life into what would have been an otherwise barren and desolate environment.

Merzouga Desert

Upon your arrival in Merzouga, you will be greeted with a refreshing cup of tea, and then you will embark on a peaceful camel ride to the desert camp, nestled amidst the glistening golden dunes. Your overnight accommodation will be a comfortable tent, where you can savor a delicious dinner under the twinkling starry sky.

Furthermore, the local camp team will entertain you with live regional music, creating an unforgettable experience as you spend the night in the heart of the desert dunes.

On the next day, following breakfast at the Auberge, you will embark on a 4x4 tour of the dunes, providing you with an opportunity to explore the fascinating black volcanic rocks laden with marble fossils. You will also visit the renowned Khamlia village, famous for its vibrant black community and their captivating Gnawa spiritual music performances.

Hassi Labied

While visiting Hassi Labied, we'll pause at a garden where you can witness the elaborate canal irrigation system that's been employed for centuries to cultivate crops in the desert.

Following that, we'll return to Merzouga, where we can witness the Dayet Srji Lake, which is formed during springtime and draws in a variety of wildlife, including pink flamingos, making for a remarkable and gorgeous spectacle.

As we make our way through Rissani, we will take a break to immerse ourselves in the town's culture by visiting Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif, which was established in honor of the founder of the Alawite dynasty.

Rissani

Rissani, situated in the Tafilalet region of southeastern Morocco, is located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. It is renowned for its historical significance as the capital of the Tafilalet region and the birthplace of the Alawite dynasty that presently rules Morocco.

Rissani boasts a rich cultural heritage, with numerous ancient ruins and historic sites dating back to the Almoravid and Almohad dynasties. One of the most popular attractions in Rissani is the ruins of the ancient city of Sijilmasa, which was once a prominent center of trade and commerce in North Africa.

Next, we will continue our journey back to Fez, making a stop in Midelt, where we will pause at one of the nearby restaurants with a scenic view to relish a delicious lunch in a Berber village nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains.
