Tour from Fez to Marrakech via Desert 8 Days

Recommended Moroccan Tours offers eight special days to discover Moroccan Desert With a camel trekking in order to live the experience of SAHARA in its glory. Accompanied by a driver-guide fluent in English, French or Spanish, in a very air-conditioned vehicle. Along the way we will make several stops to enjoy the villages and the landscapes. This tour is private, therefore there is no strict program, you can order to stop anywhere alongside the tour.

Day 1 : Fes

Fes arrival to Airport

We will receive you at the airport gate with an air-conditioned car. Then, drive you towards the hotel / Riad in Fes to relax.

Day 2 : Fes medina

Royal palace

First, we will visit the fascinating Royal palace, to see its tremendous giant 7 brass Gates. That has matching knockers, covered with intricate patterns and majestically carved in copper.

El Mellah

Next, continue our fes city tours by moving to “El Mellah”, the first Moroccan Jewish Quarter. In order to see a different world of authentic streets and marvelous little shops. The Mellah has also a large square where you will find a huge range of all sorts of entertainment.

Jnane Sbil Gardens

Your personal driver will next introduce you to the charming Jnane Sbil Gardens. In order to get some breezy air and see the captivating centered Moroccan-Style Fountains. You will also get to discover the magnificent defensive towers of Fes. Take a break for lunch.

Bab Boujloud

After that, you will wander through the old Medina entering from its most beautiful Royal Blue Gate “Bab Boujloud”. That is to get amazed by its royal mosaic tiles giving the perfect example of old Moroccan.

University of Al Quaraouiyine

Your Multilingual Guide will also introduce you to the spectacular Madrasas (Islamic Schools). That is by visiting “Medersa Bouanania” “Medersa Al-Attarine”, to see their most unique designs of fancy Moroccan fountains, and spectacular Arab-Moroccan Architecture.

Nejjarine Museum

We pursue our fes city tours towards “Mausuleum Moulay Idriss II”. It is the sacred Shrine of Idriss II; the founder of Fes the old city. As we discover a huge part of the spiritual Moroccan culture. The Following stop would be “Nejjarine Museum” of wooden arts & crafts.

Chouara Tannery

After a tempting typical Moroccan dish, your multilingual Guide would take you towards the Tanneries of Fes. It is where you would discover “Chouara Tannery”, Africa’s oldest and largest Tannery, where real leather is beautifully and naturally shapes and color.

Day 3 : Azrou, Ifrane, Midelt, Ziz valley, Merzouga


Stop at : Azrou

We will move to Azrou, an old Berber town with the largest cedar forest in Africa. Where you can enjoy your free time in the breezy forest to wander through the green forest.

Stop at : Ifrane

Then we will carry on to Ifrane that is considered as a magical mountain town and one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco which looks like little Switzerland.

Stop at : Midelt

Arriving to Midelt, a Berber village located in the middle Atlas mountain, we will stop in a local restaurant for lunch.

Ziz valley/Errachidia

Driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains, and driving further south you will dramatically start to notice the shifting change from green and mountainous to dry and desert. However, Ziz river near Errachidia brings life to what could have been inhabitant and dead.


Upon arrival to hotel’s Merzouga, and after a welcoming tea, here you have a pool inside hotel.Then you will take a delicious dinner meal after that you can stay relaxing in your comfortable hotel.

Day 4 : Merzouga

Stop at : Merzouga / Desert

On the second day after breakfast in the Auberge, you will have a tour of the dunes by 4×4 allowing you to visit the black volcanic rocks of marble fossils, visit to khamlia village famous with black people and entertainment with their spiritual music of Gnawa.

Then you will have a break for lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied. After lunch, you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located on the foot of the dunes. Continue to your hotel for relax and get ready for a camel trek for one hour to enjoy the sunset.

Day 5 : Rissani, Tinejdad, Gorges Todra, Dades Valley

Stop at : Rissani

We will drive through Rissani stopping to discover the culture of this town visiting Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif established to honor Alawite dynasty founder.

Stop at : Tinejdad

At the entrance to Tinejdad,we will visit the most famous tradition berber place which is ksar El Khorbat, built at the end of the 19th century, has kept its architecture and the atmosphere of yesteryear that inhabits it.

Stop at : Gorges Todra

You will entertain with orange high cliffs of Todra Gorges and the green Oasis of Dades Valley. The charming valley is a beautiful treasure perfectly hidden between the very high cliffs. Afterward, you will take a break for lunch in local restaurant.

Stop at : Dades Valley

Dades Valley is scattered with oases, palm groves and elaborate kasbahs. The valley itself is made lush and green by Dades River, which rises from the High Atlas Mountains before emptying into Morocco’s largest river, Draa.

Day 6 : Boulmane, Kelaa M’gouna, Ouarzazate

Stop at : Boulmane Dades

On the following morning, we will have a tempting breakfast. Then, start moving towards Kelaa M’gouna.

Stop at : Kelaa M’gouna

Morocco’s most romantic town. This town constitutes an economic and social center for the region, for its very animated nature. Kalaa M'Gouna is most known for the "Roses Festival" which takes place in the city every year in May.

Stop at : Ouarzazate

We will cross the Berber village of Skoura, to finally arrive in Ouarzazate in the late evening. Spend the third day in a lovely Guesthouse in Ouarzazate with the most captivating views of the Atlas Mountains.

Day 7 : Kasbah Taourirt, Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakech

Taourirt is one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in Morocco. In the past, it was a strategic location controlled by the Glaoui for the Saharan Caravan Route to West Africa.

Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou

Next, leave Ouarzazate, the golden Gate of the Sahara towards Ait Benhaddou, the largest Kasbah in Africa. This beautiful Kasbah is a fortified Ksar (Royal Palace) with impressive buildings and spectacular mud houses.

Stop at : Marrakech

Then, cross the high Atlas Mountains through the winding passes of Tizi N Tichka, admiring the captivating Mountains views and the refreshing breeze. The last stop would be The Red Marrakech. It is where we will drop you off at your hotel.

Day 8 : Marrakech/airport

We’ll drive you to the airport in the morning, after taking your breakfast. Where we would pick you up at your Hotel, after discovering a Red World of new cultures and ancient traditions.
